easy like sunday morning

I'm trying to up my dress quota this year.
I want a hundred dresses so that I can wear one everyday this summer.

I love kohls dresses because they are so wearable.
I tried on a few while I was in the states but I only took this one home:

The straps are adjustable and the bust is even padded slightly!
I'd wear it with the bow in the front though for more jazz.

Oh yeH, I forgot about this BLOG!

First post since August, I can't believe it!
I've been wrapped up with teamknit, my rockin knitblog that I co-author with my fantastic girlfriend Julie Cameron. Things are going great on that front, our readership is up and well beyond anything that we might have imagined. The only thing we need, quite desperately actually is a new web design. We geekily aspire to have our own .com, .net or .something by the end of the year. Who knows though, it could happen sooner than we think. Perhaps.....end of spring?OOh, S-P-R-I-N-G! The whole reason I even remembered this journal- I've been online shopping for new purses and shoes when I stumbled across ninewest.com and liked what I saw so much that I had to share.

Check it out:

Large Suede Hobo $150.00
$99.99 SALE

Bow Feelin' Large Shopper $95.00

Patent Croc Top Handle $69.00
$49.99 SALE

Did you know steve madden made dresses?

I sure didn't. I was just clicking around to find out which stores have a size 8 in the new floral flats I bought in the states- If they even have them here that is. What I like most about them is that each shoe is different. The material is the same but I'd be hard pressed to find two of the same( trust me I asked to see every size 7.5 they had.

and I'm also after these called "novice" in brown

The dresses are very trendy, but some maintain that element of staying power madden is known for. I'd buy one if it looked good- hands down good dresses are hard to find.

I like this new wave of "looking like a present waiting to be unwrapped" bows. A mix of Audrey and Forever21

Colin, I'm in the garden! Colin!

Remember the Secret Garden? I loved that book and movie. For a long time- as far as I can remember really, I've wanted my own bit of earth. On Saturday I took some great leaps and bounds on it. But I have no photos, so it's boring and I'll get on to other things.

It's been a while, but I've been busy with the TeamKnit I've been shopping though, finding some amazing dresses.

I'm sold on the green, not so much on the polkadots.

I ended up buying a pearlized white belt, and some very VERY cute earings from a local artist. Pictures later ofcourse.

The day before I found a special leather etched edition of the shoes below. I cannot emphasize how freaking better these shoes look in all one piece of leather. The laces will be taken out- I'll never wear them. But they are a perfect replacement for the aldo SLIPPERS I've been wearing as shoes. These new ones actually have SOLES. Oooh. My feet wont know what hit them. Bam!

the BIG plan

Jules and I have been hammering out details for a joint project. I dont want to give out details yet as I hardly have any, but it will be spectacular. I'd like to be opperational June 1 but thats probably a pipe dream and will settle for ASAP. Hopefully our meeting with the creative designer will inspire him to a fevered frenzy and we'll be up and blogfamous in no time. lmao. blogfamous.

i think i just had a yarn-gasm

Ok. I've calmed down some since writing out the first draft of this post. I have a lot to say and I'm in a fantastic mood so lets get to it.

Yesterday was a special day. Not only was it our anniversary but the shopping gods smiled heavily upon me and oh did I bask in it.

I was at odds over what to get Toby, we celebrate anniversaries but usually don’t make a big deal out of it. Happy anniversary, lets get it on type deal. I just wanted an excuse to updrage him. So I bought him this posh leather card holder + removable brushed silver money clip from Harry Rosen. Nothing but the best.

Salvatore Ferragamo

I finally used up my $50 GAP giftcard. With these three below. I bought the white one in black, and the black one in a bright blue. Versitile pieces as each can be dressed up or down.

Yep! There's more!

I visited the holy grail known as "Cosmetics World" at Yonge/Charles. Wow just about sums it up. They have every styling line imaginable. High end shit man. I found the whole sebastian laminates line. *drools* so I picked up a new bottle of "Get a Grip" the ultimate in volume + control nonsticky gel. I also picked up some fake lashes, the outer half kind because a full set makes me look like a tramp. Straight up.

Gosh. I haven't even gotten to the yarn porn yet. Holycrap batman.

First let me show you my progress on Lelah. Cast on last night and 4 repeats later..

my precious.. preeeeeeecious debbie bliss arrived today along with two Addi Turbo Natura 24" circulars.

not sure what I'm going to make with this yet..
Trellis scarf? mmm....

Check out the joins!

Who's a happy kitten?

My first yarn+needle purchase from knitpicks arrived yesterday and you bet I was swatchin the moment I sat down on the subway. The Lelah calls lace bit calls for 7&9's but they have not arrived from the other sale I bought from at knithappens but I can easily enough fit them on a 16" untill the 24" arrives.

This is going to make for some great semi-mindless knitting. Although I am swatching carefully. I've read on other blogs that this can be the top from hell if you dont get your guage in check.

3.25mm, 5.5mm, 4.0mm

I think I'm partial to the smaller guages. As Julie points out, "It looks more handknit than homemade".

Someone's got a bit of a problem...

Uh-oh. I gotta stop bringing my credit card to work. The little voice in my head (suprisingly not Julie for once) knows that it won't stop me for I have it memorized! MUAHAHAHAHAHA! (halp me!)

I just bought 10 balls of Debbie Bliss Cotton DK. The sale advertised 2.60/ball with shipping and tax it was 4.10/ball which is still good according to the kind lady on Craftster.

I have great taste

How suprising is it, that when- for nostalgia's sake, I look up the first yarn ever purchased and it's Malabrigo! Hah.
