ooh. hey there...

it's not that i'm not knitting, because I am.

i've finished l'slouch, a cabled clutch, two cable scarves and a pair of slippers recently...

it's not that i don't like blogging, because I do.
i've totalled more hours on facebook and myspace combined than I have on my homework for school.

it's because i have no desire to have an ugly blog. were it to be pretty.. well I can fantasize the things I'd put. the things i dont bother with because of the uuuug.

and there you have it.

long winded? nah... just bored at work...again

My love monkey left yesterday to the states for a huge artist photoshoot. Watching him move on to bigger and better things just fills me with pride!

and to my relief and subsequently ever growing love of cellphones..

on to the fiber content

The other day I made a great leap over the interweb to destash and purchased some needles from pointeshoespunkrockandpurl.blogspot.com I try to shy away from internet orders because I always end up buying more than I need and more than I wanted to! I'm happy with this purchase though, and I've been plotting many devious projects.

Ok I lie.

I've mainly been thinking hard about how I'm going to make kevin's part 2. Which is turning out to be just as complicated as the arrrrgh's. Why must I be so ambitious when knitting? *smacks forehead* Like really, everyone else I know takes a pattern, knits it and voila. I on the other hand take the pattern dis and dismantle then fudge it up as I go along. baah.

it's only tuesday!
kill me!

I have a ton of photos to add but I'll get to them later.

ooh! I put the argyle aside last night and fiddled around with some cabling work.. can we say clutch?

half baked

Instead of finishing one glove completely, I started the second to save time while I figure out how to make the hole Karo wants. Seriously. This is damn hard.

Cast-on for my endpaper's and about 1/4 way throught the first one I realized I didn't like them as much as I had hoped. I'd post a picture but it's already back at the pond. Maybe a houndstooth motif instead. *shrugs*

I'll be so glad when I can knit for ME.

I have two other *secret* projects in the works right now for two friends who are all about exclusivity. They want stuff nobody else has, and nobody else will ever have. Easy enough, look forward to me breaking many copyright laws in the comming weeks.

what else?
Oh yes. I'm going to clean up this blog, sit down and write out some CSS/HTML and make a proper webpage. Whats the use of havin skills if you dont use them right?

traviest

traviest, originally uploaded by j_sun.

I knit this for a good friend using 1 skein of cotton yarn. no itchies here, no siree bob. The last thing you want to think riding down a hill is how much you want to scratch your forehead. This was made for man's size medium.

what you will need:
1 50g skein of desired color (worsted weight)
5mm 16inch circular needles
5mm double pointed needles
tapestry needles to weave in ends

Cast on 96 stitches
K2P2 rib for 1.5 inches

Cable Pattern:
Row1: * CB6, P2, K2, P2* Repeat to end
Row2, 3, 4: * K6, P2, K2, P2* Repeat to end

Repeat these 4 rows 8 times then begin decreases

Row1: * K2tog,K2, SKP, P2, K2, P2* Repeat across (80 sts)
Row2: * K4, P2, K2, P2* Repeat across
Row3: * K2tog, SKP, P2, K2, P2* Repeat across (64 sts)
Row4: * K2, P2* Repeat across
Row5: * K2tog, P2tog* Repeat across (32 sts)
Row6: Knit all sts
Row7: * K2tog* Repeat across (16 sts)
Row8: Knit all sts
Row9: * K2tog* Repeat across (8 sts)

break yarn and weave through the last 8 stitches and tie closed. weave begining end in and BOH. you have the traviest hat evAr.

i love this scarf, it's a (late) christmas prez for a girlfriend of mine who moved away. pairs perfect with an off the shoulder top when its too cold to wear alone. I used Romni Wool's hand spun 2(100g) skeins in white and they key point here---> it knits up so freakin soft.

This pattern work in multiples of (3 + 2)
Size 10mm neeedles

Cast on 17 stitches
Row 1 (RS): k1, *yo, sl1, k2, psso the two knit sts over; rep from *, end k1
Row 2: p

repeat these two rows to desired length, block, add fringe and enjoy !
